Lindsay's Waiting on Wednesday: World After by Susan Ee

World After by Susan Ee
Series: Penryn and The End of Days
Genre: Angels, Young Adult, Paranormal
Pages: N/A
Expected Publish Date: November 18th, 2013 by Skyscape

In this sequel to the bestselling fantasy thriller, Angelfall, the survivors of the angel apocalypse begin to scrape back together what's left of the modern world.
When a group of people capture Penryn's sister Paige, thinking she's a monster, the situation ends in a massacre. Paige disappears. Humans are terrified. Mom is heartbroken.
Penryn drives through the streets of San Francisco looking for Paige. Why are the streets so empty? Where is everybody? Her search leads her into the heart of the angels' secret plans where she catches a glimpse of their motivations, and learns the horrifying extent to which the angels are willing to go.
Meanwhile, Raffe hunts for his wings. Without them, he can't rejoin the angels, can't take his rightful place as one of their leaders. When faced with recapturing his wings or helping Penryn survive, which will he choose?

If you've read my recent review, then you know I'm absolutely dying  to read World After. Not only was Angelfall fantastic, amazing and gripping, but the cliffhanger ending leaves two huge problems hanging by a thread.

SPOILER ALERT
Highlight black bars to reveal spoilers.

Problem Number One: Raffe thinks Penryn is dead, when she's actually stunned from the toxin admitted from an abomination the angels created. He delivered her body to her family even though the chances of him dying were great, and just before he carried her off, he was devastated, making his 'I don't even like you' statement just chapters earlier false.

Problem Number Two: Penryn's sister Paige is a monster. The angels turned her into a crazed low-demon with razor blade teeth that helped her rip a lab scientist killing Penryn apart. After looking for her through the whole book, Penryn finds her, and she's a demon.

I'm planning on buying this book the day it comes out and I can't say I've ever been this excited for the release of a book before. If you haven't read Angelfall, I suggest you get your hands on it immediately. All reviews are four or five stars and honestly, it's my now favorite book!
